atubi Medical Products is a registered Closed Corporation.

The business is owned and managed by Katrina Badenhorst. She obtained her B.Sc.Physiotherapy degree at the University of the Orange Free State. She has worked at the Conradie Spinal Unit in the Cape, as well as the Spinal Unit of the Pretoria Academic Hospital. She also gave lectures at the Physiotherapy College in Pretoria. She has worked in the Intensive Care Units of Netcare, Life Health Care and Medic-Clinic Hospitals in Pretoria.

We develop, manufacture and market multi-purpose transfer devices called the atubi Transfer Seat and atubi Evacuation Seat. The latest addition to our range is the atubi Stretcher.

Production of the atubi Seats and atubi Stretcher is subcontracted to Scavenger Manufacturing.(A Level 3 BBBEE verified company). They produce safety, restraining equipment and specialized textile products. Scavenger Manufacturing is committed to implementing and maintaining an internationally recognized Quality Management System based on ISO 9001:2008. ( SANAS registered company.) The factory is situated in Waltloo, Pretoria. The atubi was designed and patented in South Africa, making it a proud South African product!

The atubi Transfer Seat allows for the easy, safe, and comfortable transfer of a weak, ill, or disabled person. It is used in hospitals (intensive care and general wards), care centres, and home nursing environments. The transfer seat comes in three sizes to cater for the specific needs of the patient.

The atubi Evacuation Seat is used for emergency evacuations in buildings, mines and other disaster situations. The evacuation seat comes in one size only, with adjustable straps to accommodate all persons. A head rest supports the neck of the evacuee. The back of the Atubi Evacuation Seat has been reinforced with PVC, high density foam and a polyethylene plate that protects the occupant’s back, the legs are protected by a cushioned leg panel.

The atubi Evacuation and Transfer Seat is robust and strong. It has been tested at the SABS and handles the design load of 300kg with ease. Production is controlled by a data pack with strict guide lines to ensure the quality of the product.

The atubi Stretcher has been developed for the medical, industrial, mining and construction sectors.. The stretcher can function as a rigid or flexible stretcher, depending on the space available. It folds up into a compact bag and weighs just under 10kg. Passed Load bearing tests for upto 300kg with ease.

The atubi has definite advantages above other evacuation devices:
